Famine
Remembrance Week Schedule 2003
| In 1932-1933,
between 7 and 10 million Ukrainians were starved to death as a
result of the Soviet policy of forced collectivization. In sheer
numbers, this genocidal tragedy ranks among the worst cased of
man’s inhumanity towards man, and is perhaps the most extreme
example of the use of food as a weapon. |
