The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) congratulates the Voice of America Ukrainian Service on its 60th anniversary of dedicated service in providing information to Ukraine.  During the darker days of Soviet power in Ukraine, VOA Ukrainian Service became a beacon of hope and a plethora of news to a society locked in an informational vacuum.    Your hard work and dedication has paid off hundredfold as we are witnesses to a strong vibrant nearly two-decade renewed independent Ukrainian state.

The Voice of America Ukrainian Service had played an essential role in informing generations of Ukrainians about the plight and important work of the organized Ukrainian American community.  The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America wishes to thank VOA Ukrainian Service for its steadfast efforts throughout the past six decades in bringing attention to critical information both from Ukraine, as well as in our Ukrainian community.   As Ukraine regained its independence and the new paradigm of modern technology surpassed from radio to internet and television media, the Voice of America Ukrainian Service was paramount in its efforts to continue its journalistic professionalism and attain new markets in Ukraine.

The UCCA expresses its gratitude to Voice of America Ukrainian Service for its coverage over the past six decades of events important to the Ukrainian American community.  Your coverage has kept the traditions of the Ukrainian nation alive and has honored the nation in which we reside by upholding the principle of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution – freedom of speech.

May this anniversary bring you many more years of fortitude in your continued work of advocating our common concerns.

Многая Літа!  Щасти Вам Боже!
